A few kilometers from Pietra Ligure, in Borgio Verezzi (2 km) and Toirano (9 km), there are two of the most important prehistoric settlements in Europe.
These are suggestive underground caves carved by water, rich of traces left by the first primitive men, skeletons of prehistoric animals, fascinating "salons" adorned with stalagmites and stalactites of the strangest forms, crystalline underground lakes.
